MISSION
The missions of the IGES are to develop and promote the safe, practical, and skilled application o f endoscopic techniques in treating gynecologic conditions through the establishment of standards, education, research, and dialogue.
The continuing medical education mission of the IGES is to promote and provide quality medical education for physicians and allied health care professionals in the field o f endoscopy and in other r elated areas. The goal of this educational effort is to assist physicians in providing their patients with the safest, most therapeutic and most economical surgical care. We are also committed to the dissemination o f accurate information in these areas, to the public, health maintenance organizations, and others in the health care industry.
The major emphasis of our CME program is in teaching basic and advanced endoscopic techniques, minimally invasive therapies, noninvasive diagnostic tests, emphasize safety, indications, potential complications and instrumentation. Advanced courses cover opeĀrative laparoscopy, hydrolaparoscopy, laparosonography, laparoscopically assisted hysterectomy, diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy, laser, ultrasonic and electrosurgical endoscopy, transvaginal sonography, management of endoscopic complications, ovulation induction, assisted reproductive technologies, and preparing scientific papers for presentation and publication. Other CME programs are designed for allied health care professionals including nurses and operating room technicians.
Our CME activities will include the Annual Scientific Meeting, Biennial Congress, and free-standing courses. The Annual Scientific Meeting or Biennial Congress features original scientific research presentations, panels on topics of current interest, in-depth postgraduate courses on basic and advanced topics, and multimedia-video sessions covering both established and new techniques. Free-standing courses may be didactic or combined didactic and laboratory in nature. Hands-on workshops have included didactic lectures, multimedia-video, hands-on demonstrations, laboratory demonstrations, and live patient demonstrations by closed circuit television o r satellite-transferred video. Interaction with the faculty is provided through established discussion periods, question and answer sessions, and round-table seminars. The Annual Scientific Meeting or Biennial Congress and free-standing courses provide a forum for the ample exchange of ideas among the participants and faculty.
VISION
IGES serves gynecologic surgeons from various sub-specialties who are interested in advancing their expertise in the diagnostic and therapeutic uses of endoscopic techniques.
The Indonesian Gynecological Endoscopy Society (IGES) is established to take part i n the achievement of the highest standards for the practice of gynecologic endoscopy, and minimally invasive surgery.
